We made it into Glacier National Park today, and it didn’t disappoint! This is how you do a national park—Cuyahoga Valley, I’m looking at you. No bear sightings today (we did see a couple moose though!), though rangers are warning…
Scenes from the Montana roadside
We’re checked into a tiny motel outside the eastern edge of Glacier National Park for the next few days. Walking around the town—which consists of a train station and about six buildings—it feels like we’ve stepped back in time at…
Theodore Roosevelt National Park: so much wildlife!

Hello, Chicago!
Tonight we’re staying with Lori’s aunt and uncle in a Chicago suburb. That’s a huge improvement over last night’s accommodations in Akron, where a bunch of teenagers literally partied on the other side of our hotel room door from midnight…
Cuyahoga Valley: America’s muddled mess of a National Park?
Today we visited Cuyahoga Valley National Park—sometimes referred to as “America’s most accessible national park” due to its extremely close proximity to urban areas. And we learned that “America’s muddled mess of a national park” might be a fitting title, too.
First stop: Akron, Ohio
After roughly 8 hours on the road, we’ve arrived at our first destination: Akron, OH!
