Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is pretty great We just returned from a full day at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which I’d never heard of until last week. We had a great time, and ran out of daylight wishing we could have spent a couple more hours there.
It’s pretty late now, but I wanted to throw a few photos up before bed.

View from Miner’s Castle overlook near the western park entrance.
Miner’s Falls. There are quite a few spectacular waterfalls to visit in the park.
The trails were well-maintained, mostly deserted, and ridiculously green! We did about 12 miles, mostly in the Chapel Basin area.
Chapel Rock. We were much closer but the photos don’t do it justice.
Hard to believe that’s Lake Superior and not someplace tropical!
So many scenic cliff views like this one.
The forecast for tomorrow is rain, so we’ll spend it driving. The plan is to head west on Route 2 and travel as far as we can—hopefully into North Dakota.
So beautiful, can’t get over the color of the water!
