A canyon of kings; a trainwreck of an election

We spent the day at Kings Canyon National Park, which is awesome. But I’m not going to write a full recap, because we just spent the whole night unable to tear ourselves away from the US election coverage (yikes, America!).

But here are a few photos, at least (click for larger versions):

A tarantula, the second that we’ve seen hanging out on roads over the last couple days.

We watched this Great Blue Heron for 30 minutes, hoping it’d catch a fish. It didn’t.

The moon rose over the mountains as we were leaving the park.

We’re in a condo just outside of Yosemite, which we’ll be exploring over the next few days.
