We Do America!

We’re in North Dakota!

Today we drove about 600 miles west through Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, and ended up just over the North Dakota border in Grand Forks. It sure is flat out here.

We booked a $39 room at the local Quality Inn on Priceline after an attempt to rent a camper on a horse farm through AirBnB fell through. Upon check-in, the extremely friendly girl at the front desk immediately apologized on behalf of Grand Forks and stated that “there isn’t much to do around here”. We have a loose rule around avoiding one-night stays, but in this case I think we’ll probably make an exception.

Tomorrow we’ll drive across North Dakota and look for a place to stay near the western border so we can check out Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a day or two.

We’re racing to get to Glacier Nat’l Park in Montana before the park roads close – we’ll probably slow down after that.
