We Do America!

Hello, Chicago!

Tonight we’re staying with Lori’s aunt and uncle in a Chicago suburb. That’s a huge improvement over last night’s accommodations in Akron, where a bunch of teenagers literally partied on the other side of our hotel room door from midnight to 6AM.

We drove through three states today: Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.

Ohio

Driving through the remainder of central and western Ohio, we saw farmland. Lots of farmland.

We did stop near the western border of Ohio to snap a photo of one of the state’s famed covered bridges, though. It was red. And a bridge.

Indiana

I slept through most of Indiana (Lori tells me that some girls in a passing car were making fun of my sleeping face, which makes me hate them). We did stop at Notre Dame University to check out the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, but unfortunately it was a game day, which meant the campus was closed to visitors. So I went back to sleep.

Illinois

When we rolled into Illinois, it was fairly late in the afternoon, and we were feeling pressure to meet Lori’s family on time. So we stopped just long enough in Chicago to check out the skyline and snap a few photos.
